MY Story

Where It All Began

After graduating from University with a Law degree, I decided to take a leap and become a private chef.  At an early age I started watching cookery shows with my family and when I watched the chefs cook on the TV I would feel the adrenaline rush and a pure passion for the creativity and uniqueness of the food which was being presented.   I have always been creative and have had a love for trying new foods, so this career change made sense.

What started the pursuit of becoming a Private Chef was the experience of the BBCs MasterChef programme, where I was the 2022 MasterChef Finalist (final 3).   The feeling of adrenaline I got watching the TV when I was younger was amazing and one I felt in the MasterChef kitchen.  I have continued to build my knowledge and skills since MasterChef as a foundation to create and build my private dining experience – The Spicy Flexitarian by Chef Rü | Private Chef and also started my own Chef Rü At Home Service, a bespoke Takeaway Service.

When I am in the kitchen I feel at home, I feel comfortable and in the zone.  The joy and passion I have for cooking is one I want to share with as many people as I can by having the privilege of being able to share my creations with you.

This private dining experience in West Yorkshire and surrounding areas is vegetarian Indian fine dining, where I take classic vegetarian Indian flavours but I modernise it with a unique twist in the way it is presented and served.  I like to offer that fine dining experience but within the comfort of your own home for you and your guests to enjoy.  As well as the private dining I also cater for many other events: afternoon tea, mixology cocktail parties, BBQs and many other events incluing a 9-course Tasting Menu , more details can be found under ‘Special Events’
